Bliss Bridal Fair 2010 At Swiss Garden KL
It’s alittle last minute but we are having a booth in Swiss Garden Wedding Fair on the 24th and 25th April (Sat and Sun)
See you guys there
Portrait with 3 ladies
We were all geared up for the portrait session and were hoping real hard that there would be great light with good weather. Well, the opposite came to pass. It was raining cats and dogs just before we started. What a session to begin with! No light, wet ground, limited time…and we have a portrait shoot with 3 ladies. We waited for the rain to stop and started off shooting in the shelter with the remaining time we have left.
It was the time where I also tested the Pocket Wizards FlexTT5. I’m relief that it worked as it should for the range I needed. I had the worst combination of flashes, the 580exII and the 430ex which RF interference was known to limit the new Pocket Wizard’s range severely. In most of the shots, I had my 580exII mounted on a softbox as my main light while the 430ex provided the kick light. The range extension method listed in Pocket Wizard’s website did help to extend my range, especially with my 430ex being the furthest from my camera.
Here are some of my fav shots from that day.
Make-up artist : Rachel Chun

There was a slight hint of a warm sunset during the end of day. For the two shots below, I had the main light gelled with a a full cut CTB and my white balance set to 10,000K to accentuate the sunset in the background.

Merry Christmas and a Blessed New Year

It’s Christmas again! Our favorite time of the year. Just want to take this opportunity to thank all our clients for their support throughout this wonderful year. We are excited that a new year is coming and we believe that there will be much more installed for us in CreativeClicks. New challenges and new boundaries to push.
But also in this time, let us also not forget the true meaning of Christmas. We celebrate the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ who came to die on the cross for us.
Again, it has been an amazing year, an amazing ride for us in CC and we would like to thank God for all the blessings that He has given each one of us.
Wherever you may be celebrating, God Bless and have a great Christmas.
“Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his Name Emmanuel, which bring interpreted is God with us” – Matthew 1:23 (KJV)

Rhythmic Roots by Young KL Singers in Actors Studio

A few months back we did a small project with The Young KL Singers by shooting their group photos for their new production. It’s call Rhythmic Roots. They will be performing at Actors Studio this month. Please check them out at Actors Studio. Their songs and dance celebrates the cultural and heritage of Malaysia
“This year, The Young KL Singers (YKLS) will be exploring its cultural roots with yet another exciting production entitled Rhythmic Roots.
Rhythmic Roots is a journey through the various ethnicities and cultures of Malaysia, the Philippines, Thailand, Indonesia, China and India. Some of the highlights of this production include a Baba and Nyonya folksong, Malay and Indian traditional pieces, and so Rhythmic Roots is truly a special show which emphasises the importance of origins – where we come from, who we are, and the many, many influences and cultures which have shaped Malaysia’s musical heritage.”

The Hot Shoe Diaries: Big Light from Small Flashes

WOW.. Got this as a birthday present from wifey Allison but only arrived last week. She pre-ordered it in December from Amazon. This, my dear readers, is an excellent book to read. If you have not gotten a copy of Joe’s previous book The Moment It Clicks then shame on you
. This is his second book dedicated to Small flash application. There are also alot of tips and set up on Nikon’s CLS. We (Darren and I.. including Bernie who secretly loves the Nikon altho he carries around his Conan .. opps Canon camera everday and tells everyone how much he loves it) love how easy it is to set up Nikon’s CLS and we use them alot. Joe has this way of writing that even with his many many years of photography, the way he does things are mere suggestion or methods that worked for him, rather than what he says is THE ONLY WAY.
If you have not gotten hold of this book.. Or The Moment It Clicks, please go and get a copy. He is inspiring and also very practical in terms of down to earth ideas and technical know hows.

Happy Chinese New Year from us at CreativeClicks…..
It’s yet another long holiday for us to catch up with our family, rest and backlogs.
Promised myself not to take any photos and chill during this week.. But how can I resist taking a photos of Carissa in her cheong sam and pig tails..
So…It’s the year of the Ox.. May you and your love ones be prosperous and have good health..

And so it is 2009…What’s been happening?
Already 6 days into 2009.. what’s been happening to us in CreativeClicks?
We’ve been so busy doing up photos for all the couples we shot in November and December 2008. We have to apologize if we have not updated the web or any more new photos in the Blog. It will come…. one of my new years resolution.
We are really excited about this year. We feel a buzz in the air that greater things will happen.
We have some new ideas, some new visions and some new inspiration. One thing for sure, we will keep pushing ourselves to shoot better pictures everytime.
For those of you who do not know, our tag line is “Where Passion Meets Art”. Yes, photography is our passion. That is that fuels us to push ourselves further. What we capture, the moments that we freeze with our cameras is like a piece of art, drawing or sketch. Some has described photography as painting with light.
Let’s see what else has happened.. oh.. Darren and I celebrated our birthday in December. Kinda makes us feel older now.
I also recently manage to dig out my 1st camera that my dad bought me when I was a kid. It was a 110 format camera from Kodak. And my 1st shoot with this camera was actually a destination shoot.
I took it with me to London and Paris. Here’s what the cam looks like. I still have it with the external flash..

We hope you have a blessed new year and thank you for all the people who has supported us. Please leave us comments. Would be nice to hear from you guys. This year.. we will push ahead with our creativity and of course someone in our team needs new gears..:)
God Bless..

Christmas for Petster
Yesterday, we had a super fun shoot with 6 furry friends. It was a challange trying to get all 6 of them to look at us. But we manage some really nice shots for them. There were 3 Pomeranians, 2
schnauzers and 1 golden retriever

They were all dressed up and ready to be Santa’s little helpers…
Check out a few shots from this session.
Stay tune for more photos of our little furry friends and their owners….
Petster in Yuri Grooming and Training School
Darren has an shoot for petster last week at Yuri Grooming and Training Sdn Bhd. These guys are serious groomers.. If you have pets and need to pamper them, check them out.
Check out some of these bling dogs he shot. Espcially the pug with shavings! Tribal Motives.
This little furry friend reminded me and Darren of someone…. hmmmm
Nikon Picture Control
Tested the D2X picture control settings on the D700 today. You can download it from here.
Basically it adds 3 more color choices to the standard set of picture controls in your D700, to mimic the D2X more neutral colors. I find the D700 colors to be a bit warm for some occasions and would love to have the D2X colors on hand for the occasions I need it. Judge it yourself.

And so.. it’s been A YEAR!!!!!!
And so.. it’s been A YEAR.. A HUGE YEAR!!!….yeaaaaa. It has been an incredible journey for us at Creative Clicks. God has brought us from a humble beginning to a place that neither anyone of us have been able to predict a year ago. We started with a planted seed full of hope and today we have sprung up into a healthy plant that is constantly growing into the tree it has meant to be. Over our 1st year, we have covered more than 30 weddings, a few dozens of ROMs, pre-wedding portraits, motorosports event, rock concerts, corporate event, magazine and commercial shoot. We look back at them not only as achievements but as blessings. (Not bad for a bunch of weekenders)
We want to thank God for His Blessings throughout this year, “And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose†Romans 8:28. Our Talents, Gifting and Strength comes from God who has made us.
Darren: -
I am thankful for my best friend, my wife Edana who has stood by me, a loving family and dotting daughter that understands all my late nights in front of the computer and those times when I am working and away on weekends. Hey Girls…we made it this far …. And the sky is the limit !!!
Pastor Kenneth and Sandra, my Huddle members and all at Acts Church , for the prayers and support. Without you guys I would be lost. Really.

Cooling off in Cameron Highlands
Looks like it’s Highlands adventures for us this month. Bernard went to Frasers and I went to Cameron Highlands instead. Thought of chilling out before the crazy year end weddings starts to come in..
Was a wet day on Saturday up in the highlands but still very enjoyable. We took a slow drive up and reached Brinchang just in time for tea. Checked ourselves into Century Pines Resort. A very nice place I must say.
We then had tea in the Smokehouse.. Excellent Scones served there. And followed by steam boat on a wet rainy night (At Highland Restaurant).. Most excellent for cold weather.
Here are some of the pictures from our 2 days spent in Camerons. Felt like staying up there and not coming back down to the rat race.
